A fun and engaging multi-activity challenge where your teams can actively help reduce air pollution by building and donating Clean Air Machines to local schools!

CreatAire: What is it?

Polluted air is a threat to anyone in an urban environment – and it is particularly dangerous to young people.

Through this event, your teams will complete mini-challenges to win our CryptoCurrency, oZone. They will then exchange their oZones for parts to build and decorate Clean Air Machines to donate to schools and community spaces!

Clean Air Machines purify the air, removing harmful particulates and improving indoor air quality – something that’s been shown to reduce illness, boost concentration, and create healthier learning environments for students and young people.

Backed by testing from the University of Sussex, our Clean Air Machines are a powerful, practical step toward cleaner spaces. And you can be a part in creating that change!

Your teams’ Clean Air Machines could be donated to local schools for use in their classrooms (and as part of STEM lessons), where the children will be able to disassemble the machine and see how each part works. This will lead to an opportunity for them to learn more about technology, design and engineering as well as about climate change and pollution.

What happens at the CreatAire event?

The event takes 2-2.5 hours, but we can also run a reduced 1-hour session if you’re short on time!

The group will be split into teams of up to 8, before a group briefing which includes a presentation from the recipient school or charity and about how clean air can make a difference.

Each team must acquire oZones (charity cryptocurrency) by completing team challenges focused on educating on climate change and pollution. The oZones can be exchanged for parts for their Clean Air Machine.

Once the build is complete, the Clean Air Machines are turned on and we will announce the winning team!

CreatAire Team Challenges

Plastic Ocean – Part quiz, part race against time. Team members will take turns answering questions. If successful, the team can go to the ocean pond and retrieve as many fish trapped in a plastic bottles as possible in 30 seconds. Once the 30 seconds have concluded they need to answer another question. How many can they get in 10 minutes?

What’s Watt? – Just how much energy is required to power everyday items? Teams will get a chance to create their own power source and charge a tablet. A pedal bike will be connected to a generator and the output will be measured.

Wind Farm – A mathematical problem requiring the whole team’s input to work out when the windfarm was able to generate electricity. Brain power and great team-work required!

Recycle – Using powers of deduction, teams must work their way through a series of clues to tell us which family has made the ultimate climate action pledge!

Endangered  – With predicted temperatures rising by 1.5 C, we are faced with the added problem of sea levels rising too. This not only endangers us but also helpless wildlife. The team will need to identify the species and where it’s located to see if its habitat is secure if temperatures rise.
