A quick overview
Looking for charity team events that combine teamwork, technology and lasting social impact?
Future Forward is an engaging autonomous vehicle challenge that brings teams together through collaboration, problem solving and friendly competition, while providing schools and youth charities with valuable STEM learning resources.
Suitable for groups of 6 to over 2,000 participants, Future Forward is an energetic experience that develops communication, creativity and teamwork while leaving a meaningful legacy for young people.
This is what happens!
The event begins with a short introduction explaining the charity partnership, the learning impact of the autonomous vehicles and how your team’s efforts will support schools and young people.
Working in teams, participants complete a series of themed challenges to earn the components needed to build their autonomous vehicle. Along the way they must communicate effectively, solve problems together and make decisions under pressure.
Once assembled, teams programme and test their vehicles before taking on the final challenge, navigating a purpose-built course using coding, sensors and teamwork to complete the mission successfully.

How Future Forward can be enhanced!
Depending on the length of your event, challenges may include:
- InSync – A communication and coordination challenge.
- On Top of the World – A satellite imagery and navigation challenge.
- Enigma Code – A collaborative coding and logic puzzle.
- Search and Rescue – A decision making challenge where every choice counts.
Each activity has been designed to encourage collaboration, strategic thinking and effective communication.
Why do it?
Autonomous technology is transforming industries including manufacturing, logistics, transport, healthcare and environmental research. Future Forward gives participants an insight into these technologies while helping young people discover the possibilities of engineering, coding and STEM.
At the end of your event, the completed autonomous vehicles are donated to schools and youth charities, giving children hands on opportunities to explore programming, robotics and engineering through practical learning.
Many of the organisations we support have limited budgets for STEM equipment, making these donations a valuable addition to their classrooms. The vehicles also support specialist education settings, helping pupils with additional needs develop confidence, creativity and problem solving skills through interactive learning.

Future Forward FAQs
What's the group size for the Future Forward?
Future Forward is one of our completely scalable events - this highly participative event works just as well for teams of 6 as it does for groups of 2000+! We can also offer the activity as part of a larger all-day event or conference activity - get in touch to find out more about these options.
Where does Future Forward take place?
We'll bring our team and all the equipment for the event directly to you, whether you're at a hired event space or on-site at your offices. We're invested in keeping our carbon footprint low, so we have a network of specialist o3e Event Crew across the country. We've held events in the UK, Europe, the USA and beyond!
How do you choose where the vehicles we make will be donated to?
If you don't already know which cause you'd like to support, we'll give you options for organisations in need, typically in your local area as we feel supporting your own community is important. Autonomous Vehicles are particularly valued by schools to use as part of their STEM educational programmes. We tend to try to encourage giving donations to smaller local schools who don't always receive the same funding as larger organisations.
How long does the Future Forward activity last?
It's designed to last around 2-3 hours. However we can be flexible based on your agenda - if you're running a drop-in session at an exhibition, or a larger full day event, get in touch and we can discuss options. We can be flexible with the mini-challenges within the event, so get in touch to discuss options.
What happens after the Future Forward event?
After the event, we'll deliver the autonomous vehicle you've built to your chosen cause, normally straight after your event. Once the recipients have had the donations for a short while, you'll receive feedback you can share with your team to really demonstrate the difference they've made by participating in the event.
